End of a Bershire Day
We had a very nice relaxing day in the Berkshires, a nice leisurely breakfast, shopping in Stockbridge and Lenox, lunch in Stockbridge, then a quick trip to Marshals (I know what are we doing in Marshals?). We had another nice warm swim in the pool before our evening out with Dinner and a play. We did discover that not everyone dresses for the Bershires. Saw some socks and sandles and army boots. We had a wonderful dinner at the Cafe Lucia in the outdoor patio. There was a special back room but we think it was mafia only. Then off to the Shakespear festival and a terrific show of the red hot Molly Ivans. A must see if you love a good conservative bashing. As our trip nears an end, it has been a near perfect vaca. We will see what tomorrow brings to top it off. All good things must come to an end, just like a canoli.
Morning in Lenox
Well decided to put some bling on this morning because after all we are in the Bershires, a little more cultural. The Hampton is a little step ahead of the Hilton with waffles and french toast on the breakfast buffet. Last night we took a spin around Lenox to get our bearings and stopped at Guidos for some Tamari Almonds. We decided to have Chinese Food and found the Panda Restaurant to get some to go. Went back to the Inn and the pool was very inviting where Casey and I spent a long time swimming, swimming, swimming in a very delicious temperature of 90 degrees. No children in the pool! We had it all to ourselves and Ann joined us after she had to eat something. What a treat to have a pool to ourselves and so relaxing. If there are no children there again today we may try an late afternoon swim. We had a slumber party with our Chinese Food and watched the comedy night TV, Modern family episode I never saw. Ann coined a new word for the people we saw on the beach yesterday. Fattoos! Now I know I will never get a Tat. So today the agenda is open and Ann says she doesn't feel the need to do anything. imagine that! Relaxation may have set in. Well it is off until later. Wish you were here, well maybe not.

Leaving Mystic for Lenox
After breakfast and packing up, we headed for the beach to enjoy the morning sun. Went to RI to Misconquot?? State Beach. It was early and we had our pick of parking spots right near the public showers and locker rooms. Took a nice walk on the beach and then set up our one beach towel, one beach umbrella and one beach mat to get a little sun. We baked for an hour and half and had enough. Especially with the view in front of us of the reason Health Care in America is growing and growing and growing. Tatooed belly guy and tatooed bodied girls with accentuted features. We headed to Lenox, clouds coming in so it was good timing. Stopped for lunch and then found our nice new digs, the Hamton Suite. Ran into Nancy on the way, older lady who looked like she escaped from the local mental health facility with her name tag on. We kept our windows up in case she wanted to ask for a ride or who she was. So just had a little rest and now we are off to see a little of Lenox and maybe come back to try out the pool. Isn't this blog exciting? Bet you wish you were on our get away.

Mystic Afternoon
Traveled a little away from Mystic to Stonington a couple miles from Mystic to a restaurant on the ocean. Very nice outside seating watching the sail boats and we goobled down clam dogs and I had fries, Ann was good had a side salad, Casey had really good grab cakes. Then a short walk to the old light house where we went out to the point where the Stonington men fought off those rotten King's men who came in by ship to burn down the village in 1814. We sat there in the sun and watched the action on the harbor. Took a trip to RI to Misquant... State Beach to see how far it was for tomorrow. What we discovered along the way was Dicks Big House Liquor store and hit that on the way back to have beverages in our room. Got some nice Botta wine little cannisters and after a glass of that back in the room it was la la land until 6 pm. One little adventure was had by Casey as we sent her off for ice to another floor since our floor ice machine was out of order (boy the Hilton!!!). She ran into the Belly up to the Bar guy at the ice machine who told her he likes to share his ice and she said thank you for sharing. So off to the movies now and the Woody Allen movie, Midnight in Paris. See you tomorrow.
Mystic morning
Just returned to the hotel after a morning at the Mystic Aquarium where we liked the sea lions, the penguins, the indoor aquarium with more fish than I will ever remember names for. Makes you wonder how they get them all to get along? We made great timing escaping the throngs of children coming in around noon. So glad those days of dragging whinning children and children escaping from you in an instant of an eye. You can actually enjoy an aquarium! Liked the gift shop with good buys on Holloween masks. Wait till you see Ann and Casey this Holloween, you won't recognize them. Ann rested (if you know what I mean twice in the aquarium and I only rested once. I win. Went back to the little shops on our way back and now looking for some ocean breeze and lunch. Casey and Ann are on it. Stay tuned for more mystic adventure. Haven't run into the belly up guy from the bar yet but he is probably ducking us so he won't end up in the blog!

End of Day One
Well dinner was uneventful but good at the Go Fish. They had camouflaged fish hanging over the bar. I wonder if the fish needed to hide for some reason??? Dissappointment after dinner when we went to the village and who would guess the sidewalks roll up at 8?? Where does that happen?? Not at Nick Stoners. Well I did get a five layer bar at the bakery before they closed. Yum can't wait to get back to the room. But a little more walking to discover more stores closed like the Bali outlet and Bass, no bras for us tonight. Back at the one level bar at the hotel for one last night cap and what we thought would be the excitement worth writing about, a big guy bellying (really bellying) up to us telling us to calm down. But when we started talking about the blog, it killed the excitement and he ran the other way, not wanting to make any headlines. He banter with us from afar, told Ann she was good looking. She showed him her new light up readers and that was it. So back to room to see who the bachlorette ends up. Nighty night.
Escape
We made our escape at 10 am. We stopped for directions a block from my house! But three hours later, no bathroom breaks (so proud of myself!) we were in Mystic. The back seat navigator was on the money and she wasn't annoying. Checked into the Hilton and hid our third party, the child. Nice room but no refridge. Where will we put our drinks! Went straight for Mystic Pizza. Never saw the movie but need to now that I know Julia Roberts was in it. Shopped till we dropped in Old Mystic Village and then headed for a siesta around 4. Now we are ready for a little night on the seaport. Stay Tuned.
